Public transport
The county of Northumberland offers an
extensive network of buses and trains both for local travel and for
travelling further afield. The county council’s website
includes information on travel by bus and train, as well as details
of how to obtain information directly from bus and train operators
and other information providers.
Most local buses in Northumberland are
provided by the bus operators without control or subsidy from the
county council. A minority of services are subsidised and run
on contract to the county council or to one of the neighbouring
authorities.
