Tell us what is important to you!
26 Aug 2025
Northumberland County Council is asking residents what is important to them – as it starts work on its plans for the next five years.
As the Council begins work on its next Corporate Plan 2026-2030 and as part of its budget setting process for 2026-2029, they are asking residents to have their say on the things that matter most to them that the Council does.
The consultation is open now until Monday 6 October.
Council Leader, Councillor Glen Sanderson said: “What is important to our residents, is important to us, and that is why we are reaching out so you can help inform the Council’s priorities and budgets from 2026.
“We are committed to doing the right things for our residents, from avoiding making cuts in the services people value, continuing our free town centre car parking scheme, building new schools and a new rail line and negotiating a huge data campus investment which will bring hundreds of new job.
“We will continue to deliver high quality services, but it is important we hear from you so that we plan to do things in areas where it matters most to you.
“There are various ways in which you can take part, and I will also be out across the county talking to people as part of this process.”
Details of in-person events will be published on the Council’s social media channels ahead of them taking place.
Residents wishing to take part can do so online via a survey at https://nland.uk/tellus or if they can tell us more specifically about what they love about Northumberland or would improve, here > https://nland.uk/yourthoughts
You can also get involved through the Council's Facebook page > https://www.facebook.com/NorthumberlandCC/
If you don’t already follow us on there, please think about doing so.
It’s a great way to keep up-to-date on all the things we are doing as a Council, as part of our commitment in delivering on the things that matter to you most.
