Confidential/Independent Admissions Advice:

Companies that offer admissions advice are not endorsed by Northumberland County Council.  Parents can however receive assistance from the Schools Choice Adviser who will help families make the best choice of school for their child. Choice Advisers are independent of the Local Authority and where appropriate can advise parents about schools in other Local Authority areas in confidence. Choice Advisers help families make sense of school league tables, Ofsted reports and admission criteria and have information about uniforms, charging policies etc.

Carol Storey is Northumberland County Council’s Choice Adviser and she can also guide parents through:

  • School and catchment areas
  • How to apply online
  • How to complete the forms
  • How to appeal if the parent/carer does not gain a place in the school they prefer
  • Meeting important deadlines
