Call for donations of pre-loved school uniform in Northumberland
13 Aug 2025
Community-based uniform services and groups around Northumberland are holding a week-long uniform collection drive in a bid to encourage families to recycle clothing while also helping others.
Good quality uniform, coats, shoes, PE kits and bags can be dropped off at various locations across Northumberland between Monday 11 August until Monday 18 August 2025.
From 11 August, pre-loved uniforms will be sorted by volunteers and made available via a network of local groups and organisations at either a significantly reduced cost, no cost or pay-as-you feel basis, with any money raised being put back into their work to support their communities.
Councillor Guy Renner-Thompson, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Children and Young People, said: “This annual initiative helps families across Northumberland to donate outgrown uniform in an environmentally friendly way. These good-quality items are given a new life.
"The hard work of the community groups and volunteers that collect and redistribute the pre-loved clothing make this uniform drive a success each and every summer.
"We encourage everyone to use their local community uniform services. By doing so, you will help reduce clothing waste while giving back to your community.”
Some schools may also have their own uniform support process in place, please contact your school to find out.
