Wansbeck Square Strategic Site

This will include high quality landscaping, space for events and activities, and potentially a new community facility.

The demolition works to Wansbeck Square are starting as part of the Ashington Regeneration Programme.  

Construction of a new community and cultural building should commence early in 2025. It is anticipated that the new facility will be opened in May/June 2026. 

Funded by UK Government, the North East Combined Authority and the County Council, the works are the first stage in the redevelopment of Wansbeck Square.
