Town Centre Regeneration

Our Town Regeneration is focused on developing, in close collaboration with their dedicated Town Forums, bespoke regeneration programmes for the seven main towns in the county with Blyth, Hexham and Ashington representing particular priorities (within the context of Town Deals, Future High Street Funds, and High Street Heritage Action Zones) together with the provision of new leisure centres in Morpeth and Berwick. Strategic projects with the potential to catalyse wider regeneration are also being progressed in the county’s secondary towns. The next phase of this work will build on the expertise and experience gathered thus far to make the business case to Government for a Town Deal designation for Ashington and to develop a suite of Place Plans and Town Investment Programmes for those secondary towns with market failure and/or latent growth potential to secure funding through the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal.
