Local Land Charges Offices opening
hours: - Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
(Berwick
office 9:00am – 12.00pm)
One clear working day minimum advance
notice is required for an appointment – providing property address
details are available
When calling for an appointment please
supply the following information:-
- Name and or/Company
- Address of property
- Up to date location plan so that we
can identify the relevant parcel of land or property. To be fax and
email details for each area are held on the contact details
page
The Authority reserves the right to
limit the number of searches carried out at each appointment.
(maximum 5)
Appointments are available
between 10.00am – 12noon or 2pm – 4pm.
Every effort is made to accommodate
Personal Searches if at all possible
Please note appointments
will be kept open for 20 minutes after which a new appointment will
have to be made. This is to ensure staff coverage and to minimise
disruption to the ‘official’ search process.

PERSONAL SEARCH FEE - FREE TO VIEW
It must be stressed that a personal searcher
should be prepared to carry out a search and inspection of local
authority records without assistance from local authority staff. A
personal searcher or any member of the public in entitled to
inspect other public registers. Although the registers below are
open for public inspection, that does not mean that staff are under
a legal obligation to supply supplementary or additional advice.
Our staff have been advised not to give gratuitous information
because of the legal implications. You should, therefore, be aware
that you will be required to retrieve your information from the
records provided.
