Exciting plans to transform the site of the old Druridge Bay Middle School into a community park have taken a major step forward. Northumberland County Council appointed landscape architects have drafted up a proposal for the park incorporating many of the ideas put forward by the local community.

Investment in learning at Swansfield Park Primary School

The new extension at Swansfield Park Primary School in Alnwick was officially opened on 7th February. The building comprising of a new learning hub, a studio and 4 classrooms comes as a result of investment by the school and local authority to enhance existing facilities.

Council offers support on school-led closure plans

The Governing Body of St Mary’s Church of England Voluntary Aided Middle School has launched a consultation on the future of the school, with options including its possible closure at the end of August 2017, as a result of falling pupil numbers and concerns about its ability to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum.
