There must be someone present at the property when our technicians call out. We will not enter premises or gardens unaccompanied for your and our own security and health and safety.


We will leave advice and information with a responsible person after our treatment.

 

Advice Visits - Residential


The charge for an advice visit is £23.59.

An officer will call out to your property to assess the problem and give advice. If we advise a treatment is necessary and you agree, you will be asked to pay the remaining £22.37, the current charge for a treatment is £45.96.

We charge a flat fee to keep costs down and make the service available and affordable to all residents.

No.We must receive a request from the owner.

If you suspect the rodents are living in your neighbour’s garden, the first thing to do is to let them know what you have witnessed. We would then advise both you and the surrounding neighbours to remove any food source for the next 7 to 10 days. If the problem persists further then you should contact us on 0845 600 6400.

Yes. We will not enter premises unaccompanied for our own security and health and safety reasons. We need to leave advice and information with a responsible person after our treatment.

Yes, as long as all instructions and advice left by the Pest Control Officer are adhered to. We always take care when laying poisons to ensure that we minimise the risk of pets and other non target animals accessing the poison. In some cases we will not lay poison if the risk is too high. We will require the home owners to keep pets and children away from poisons and/ or insecticides used.

Wasp nests:
Northumberland County Council pest control service will carry out treatments on council land if there is a danger to the public. However we cannot carry out any treatments on private land without the agreement of the owner.

 

Bees nests:
We do not carry out treatments for bees of any kind. If you are not sure what type of bee you havevisit The British Beekeepers Association to get the most appropriate advice.

No. We do not treat ants in gardens, footpaths or public areas. This is their natural habitat.

No. After your bin has been emptied rinse it with hot water. Always keep your bin lid closed.

No it’s illegal to remove or disturb bats. For further information please visit the Bat Conservation Trust website

Northumberland County Council do not carry out treatments for pigeons or seagulls. For advice and help please visit the Natural England website.
