Tenders
Northumberland County Council encourages competition and
welcomes bids from new and established suppliers. Contracts must be
awarded on the basis of obtaining value for money for the
taxpayer. The authority cannot discriminate in favour of
local suppliers but they will be given every encouragement to
compete for Council contracts. Suppliers should note that
Northumberland County Council is a member of the North Eastern
Purchasing Organisation (NEPO) which also tenders for the provision
of goods and services.

Benefits of dealing with the Council
The benefit of dealing with the authority is that the Council
has to be fair, non-discriminatory, honest and professional in the
way it awards contracts and chooses its suppliers and in any
dealings it has with them. The council pays promptly in line
with national standards and agreed contract terms.
