The Summer Reading Challenge will start on Saturday 6 July 2013.  Visit the library and sign up on or after the 6 July.

 

What is the Summer Reading Challenge?

The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to read six or more books of their choice during the holidays with collectable incentives and rewards.

Alnwick Library

In true Olympic spirit, the fun and games took place on Thursday 23 August at Alnwick Library in the library garden. We had 13 keen ‘Olympians’ who came to take part, all ages and abilities, and fun, mayhem and medals were enjoyed by all. The games which included: Javelin, Shot Put, Long Jump, Curling and Target Practice (with balls) were undertaken with much frivolity.

During the opening and closing ceremony of the games, the Union Jack flag was raised and gold medals awarded….applause and cheers were plenty and all went home happy with their Olympic endeavours. A ‘golden’ morning at Alnwick Library for all.
