Help available from professionals  

  • If problems start affecting your daily life you should seek help from your GP. They can diagnose problems and help you get the help you need. Find your nearest GP on the NHS Choices Service Finder. 
  • Health Trainers can help you stay healthy and prevent illness by giving advice and support on wellbeing, healthy eating, exercise and giving up smoking and alcohol.

  • Tyneside and Northumberland Mind Support Line: Tyneside - 0191 477 4545 or Northumberland - 0330 1743 174. (Calls are charged at local rate). Available between 8am-10pm, 7 days a week for those over the age of 16 and living in Newcastle, Gateshead or Northumberland.  

  • Qwell - Free, safe and anonymous online mental wellbeing community for adults aged 18 years old and older.   

Mental health support for young people  

  • Kooth - Free, safe and anonymous online mental wellbeing community for young people aged 11 - 25 years old.
