Then and Now Photo Competition

As part of our Photographing the Roman Wall: Then and Now project, Northumberland Libraries are running a "Then and Now" photography competition to see how the views around Hadrian's Wall have changed over the past 120 years.

Using a selection of photographs by John Pattison Gibson (1838-1912) as the "then" images we are inviting people to follow in Gibson’s footsteps and take a “now” photograph of the scenes Gibson so enjoyed exploring and photographing all those years ago.

There are 5 scenes that you can choose to replicate. You may enter one “now” photograph for every “then” image so you can enter up to 5 photographs.

The competition has two age categories, one for young adults (12 to 17) and one for adults over 18.
