Social Value and Targeted Recruitment and training

What is it?

The team supports delivery of Social Value in Northumberland County Council and Advance Northumberland contracts in line with the Social Value Act 2012.

This includes working with contractors and sub-contractors to deliver new employment opportunities, apprenticeships and traineeships, training opportunities and work experience placements to benefit Northumberland residents and communities. The team can support contractors to develop their Social Value plans and to deliver Key Performance Indicators.
 

How does it work?

The team can work with the Council’s Procurement team and directly with contractors on their Social Value plans and commitments in a mutually beneficial relationship. This may involve organising Social Value steering groups and taking a partnership approach to delivering social value. The team can then support the monitoring and reporting of performance to ensure social value is delivered.
 

Who else is involved?

The team works in partnership with Council Procurement, Planning and other departments, and then with contractors and the wide range of providers that can make Social Value a reality.
