Changes to bus services during April and May
From 2nd April, new routes H1 and H2
operated by Arriva replaces the service
previously provided by Phoenix Coaches, between Hartley Square,
Holywell Village, Seaton Delaval, Cramlington and extending to East
Hartford. Click here

Starting on 21st April one journey on route 685
from Newcastle to Carlisle, at 1445 from Newcastle, is retimed
by up to 8 minutes. Click here

Starting on 28th April, the first journey to
Morpeth and the last journey from Morpeth on Arriva route
2 are extended to start from and continue to Blyth.

From 7th May, the journey at 0730 from
Ashington to North Shields on Go North East route
19 starts 10 minutes earlier at
0720. The time of arrival in North Shields,
and the times of all other journeys on the route are
unchanged. Click here

Starting on 12th May, buses on Arriva
route X18 (Newcastle - Berwick via Amble, Alnwick and
Bamburgh) call at new stops at HMP Northumberland
near Acklington. The times of most buses are adjusted by 1
minute between Acklington and Alnwick. Click here

From 16th May, a new service known as the
Berwick Hopper runs in Berwick. Using a
wheelchair-accessible vehicle, it runs on Thursdays, Fridays and
Saturdays, between the Holiday Centre, railway station, town centre
(Marygate, Hide Hill and Bridge Street), and Tweedmouth (West

From 25th May, extra journeys are provided on
Travelsure route 418 between Alnwick, Bamburgh and
Belford. The new journeys run at 0900 and
1300 from Alnwick, and at 1135
from Belford, and they connect with buses on Arriva route X15 at
Alnwick and Belford. Click here

Two summer services 508 to Rothbury and
Cragside, and 714 to Kielder, recommence
on 26th May, and run on Sundays and bank holidays
until mid-October. Click here

The Hadrian's Wall Bus AD122 is enhanced from
25th May with additional journeys, following an
agreement by Northumberland County Council to support journeys
which would otherwise not run. Click here

From 26th May, several journeys on
Arriva route 43 between Cramlington and Newcastle
are retimed, once again to improve punctuality. Click here

From 26th May, most journeys on Arriva
routes 53 and 53A, between Cramlington, Whitley Bay and
North Shields, are retimed to improve punctuality. A small
number of poorly-used journeys in the early morning are
cancelled. Click here

Starting on 28th May, the Phoenix
Taxis local service between Blyth and Cowpen is
withdrawn. Four new routes B1 B2 B3 and B4
are provided, to Cowpen, Benridge Park and other parts of
Blyth. Click here

On the bank holidays 6th and 27th May, most bus
operators in Northumberland provide a Sunday
timetable. The exception is on the town services in Berwick,
and on routes which cross the border into Scotland, where the usual
Monday timetable runs.
