Northumberland County Council is inviting anyone interested in living in one of the new affordable homes that have been built in Alnwick to apply now through Northumberland Homefinder. 

The council has purchased eight new two-bedroomed properties which are part of Story Homes Riverbrook development being built off Alnmouth Road in Alnwick and is renting them out at an affordable rent 

This month the first new tenants moved into two of the properties. Work on the remaining six houses is expected to be finished by the end of the month. 

Anyone interested in renting one of these properties will need to join Northumberland Homefinder – http://www.northumberlandhomefinder.org.uk   to apply.  
 

Under the Homefinder allocation system, you must be registered with the site before you are able to bid on any available properties. Once registered each applicant is assessed on their housing need and given a priority banding. This banding is then used to prioritise any bid on a property. 

The Homefinder website will also show all homes available for letting.

“These properties are situated on a lovely new estate.  They are modern, energy-efficient and will make fantastic affordable homes for people in housing need.” 
 

“Improving the quantity and quality of affordable housing to help create more homes for rent remains one of the council’s top priorities. We have allocated £48.2 million in the council budget to help create more affordable housing and have worked with developers and partners to deliver 1,800 affordable homes across the county over recent years.”
