Questions sought for online budget Q+A

Residents are being encouraged to submit questions to the Council’s leadership on this year’s budget plans.

Each year the Council must set a balanced budget, which sets out its spending and investment plans and how its services will be funded.

The budget must also take account of new cost-pressures as well as making sure all its services are as efficient as possible. Crucially, for the coming year, no reductions are planned to council services.

Ahead of the budget setting in February, Council Leader Glen Sanderson and colleagues will be answering questions at an online question and answer event, which will be streamed live on our Youtube Channel at 1pm on Wednesday, January 31.

Residents can submit questions HERE and councillors will answer a selection at the online event. The deadline for question submissions is 5pm on Monday, January 29.

Council Leader Glen Sanderson said: “I am so grateful to everyone who has helped us with ideas and thoughts for our budget for Northumberland - it is very important I hear and listen to those and we have.

“So thank you - and I hope you might be able to submit a question for our question and answer session later this month. I want to do my best to make sure our budget for our county reflects those things that are important to you.”
