Northumberland Homefinder service reopens

The popular Northumberland Homefinder service that is used to search and apply for a home is now back up and running. .

People can once again search and bid for council properties on the Homefinder website,  northumberlandhomefinder.org.uk

Northumberland Homefinder is Northumberland County Council's housing allocation service, delivered in partnership with other housing providers in the county. It operates on a choice based letting service to ensure that social rented  properties are allocated to those people, most in need.

During the coronavirus lockdown,  the service was suspended  and it has only been possible to allocate housing, both on a temporary and permanent basis, under exceptional circumstances.

Northumberland County Councillor, John Riddle, cabinet member with responsibility for housing said:

“  Northumberland Homefinder aims to provide an open, fair and transparent housing allocations service, providing  a single  point of access for those in need of housing in Northumberland.

“  As lockdown restrictions are now being eased we are looking to resume this important  service in a way that is safe for our staff and the public. We thank residents for their patience and understanding over recent months."

Any updates will be announced on the homefinder website www.northumberlandhomefinder.org.uk
