Blyth swimming pool to reopen following major refurbishment work

The first phase of an exciting £5 million scheme, funded by Northumberland County Council,  to rejuvenate and modernise Blyth Sports Centre is now complete.

The swimming pool is to reopen to the public on Wednesday 5 February following essential improvement and maintenance work which has seen the pool hall refurbished. The spectator area has been given a new lease of life with new flooring and seating, while the changing rooms have been modernised and new windows and lighting installed.

The old pool plant which cleans and heats the water has also been replaced with more energy efficient and environmentally friendly equipment.

In early Spring work will start on phase II of the work which will include a new state of the art gym and fitness area, a dedicated cycling studio, a new and improved soft play experience and an extended catering offer.

There will also be a new and improved spa, children’s party areas and two new studios.
A re-designed modern and welcoming reception area will improve the customer experience.
