Applications open for support grant for ‘wet-led’ pubs

You can find more information and the application form here

Applications have opened today for support grants for pubs in Northumberland which derive less than half of their income from food sales.

The support grant was announced by the Prime Minister, to provide some important support for pubs which are losing income over the normally busy Christmas period.

A one-off grant of £1,000 will be paid to any pub which is eligible, following an application, which can be made online at www.northumberland.gov.uk/businesshub

Cllr Nick Oliver, cabinet member for corporate resources at Northumberland County Council said: “This is the latest in a series of grants and support payments that we are making for businesses which have been badly impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.

“This is undoubtedly an incredibly hard time for all those in the hospitality industry.

“We hope that this grant, alongside the Local Restrictions Support Grants, Furlough Scheme, VAT and Business Rate Relief, provides some relief for Northumberland’s wet-pubs and I encourage proprietors to apply as soon as possible.”

"Paying out these grants is a priority and our teams will be working hard to process the applications as quickly as we can.”
