Discover a world of opportunities without leaving your home

Residents in Northumberland will be able to discover a world of opportunities without leaving their home.

The Northumberland Library service recognised the need for people, struggling in the current lockdown, to be able to access information and resources online to allow them to cope over the coming weeks.

The Library service’s website has now been updated with lots of useful information and resources to help people through this difficult time.

There’s everything from tips on how to keep the kids entertained, with lots of craft ideas, recommended reads and links to storytimes. There’s also useful links and information on how to look after your wellbeing and ideas on online learning resources.

Library members can now also access the largest online collection of ballet, opera, musicals and concerts with Medici.tv. The offer is only for a limited time but all you need is your library card number.

And if you’ve always fancied researching your family history, but never had the time, you can now also access Ancestry at home for Free. All you need to do is login in to your library account with your library card barcode and pin number and click on the Ancestry link.

Library members can also access two digital library services, BorrowBox and Rbdigial offering hundreds of eBooks, eAudio and more than 20 eMagazines.

If you are not yet a library member you can sign up online and use your temporary card details to access all of the offers.

In March more than 570 people signed up to become members of the online library service in the county.
