Road work on Prudhoe Front Street from Monday 11 March

Work starts on Monday (11 March) for up to five days on important improvements to Prudhoe’s Front Street.

Part of Northumberland County Council’s annual programme of investment in highways, the work will see the stretch of road from West Road through to Redwell Road resurfaced.

Work will take place each evening from 6pm, in order to minimise disruption for residents and businesses.  Any resurfacing work will finish by midnight - with only road marking carried out after midnight and before 2am.

The current bituminous carriageway will be planed out and a new surface laid.

Signs have been erected in advance of the work and letters delivered to local businesses and residents in order to notify the local community about the work.

During the hours that the resurfacing is taking place there will be no through road on the section of the B6395 being worked on, however there will be signposted alternative routes, and access will be maintained for local residents as far as is possible.

The work will be carried out by the council and Tarmac UK and is estimated to take up to five nights, weather permitting.

The council appreciates that this essential work may be disruptive, and thanks residents and businesses in advance for their patience.
