Country parks, visitor centres & coastal sites

The country parks of Northumberland vary greatly in their size and character. They include open coast, valley woodlands, lakes and grassland. Each site provides for the recreational needs of local communities, as well as drawing visitors from across the county and further afield.

Storm Response

Although the winter storms are some way behind us, County Council staff across our country parks and numerous other sites are still working to assess and deal with damaged trees and affected woodlands.

There remains a small but significant ongoing risk that some damaged trees could fall with little or no warning.  Visitors to our sites should exercise caution, stay away from damaged areas of woodland and follow any on site signage and instructions.
