What we do
The Team primarily supports Town and Community regeneration across the County supporting places, people and organisations to develop programmes and projects that will have a benefit to the economy and quality of life of the communities concerned and to Northumberland as a whole.

Collectively, we deliver a wide range of functions that support the council’s objectives for economic growth.

For example, working with other parts of the service, council and our partners in the public, private and community sector we support the development and delivery of various regeneration programmes including:

  • Energising Blyth
  • Hexham High Streets Heritage Zone
  • Ashington Investment Plan and High Street Innovation Programme
  • Borderlands Place Programme
  • Town Forums, Hubs and Place Partnerships across the county
  • Advice and support to community organisations, social enterprises and other not for profit organisations
  • Management of the Town and Parish Charter and related events
  • Management of the community chest fund and other community grant schemes
  • Strategic support to Town & Parish Councils
  • Lead on the listing of Community Assets and Community Asset Transfers
