Public Health - Healthier Together
From April 2013, Northumberland County Council took lead
responsibility for public health for the first time since 1974.
This is a great opportunity for the council as local authorities
are responsible for many factors that contribute to health and
wellbeing. These include education, housing, planning and
environment which align well with the new public health functions
and responsibilities which are:
- Improving health
- Protecting health
- Health of our Population
