Find out more about working in social care

Northumberland County Council has joined up with independent sector providers to host social care recruitment pop-up events across the county for people to find out more about the roles available in their area and talk to people who already work in the sector.

This week the team is in Alnwick from 10am to 4pm at Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre on Monday 9 May and Tuesday 10 May and at Alnwick Market on Thursday 12 May.

Cllr Wendy Pattison, cabinet member for adults' wellbeing said: “If you are a caring person who likes working with people, why not pop along to the stall and find out more about the wide range of roles available.

“There are opportunities ranging from full-time roles – to just a few hours a week.

“There are a range of shifts available so you could workdays, evenings or weekends, so you can fit it in around your other commitments.

“Working in social care is a rewarding career which gives you the opportunity to work close to home.

“No two days are the same and there are plenty of opportunities for career progression.”

There are roles available now within council teams, with our providers, and working directly for people who make their own arrangements.
