Find out more about Police and Crime Commissioner candidates



The candidates standing for election to be the next Police and Crime Commissioner for the Northumbria Police area have each made an election statement outlining their vision and priorities for the role.
 
You can read or download information on all the candidates  from the Choose My PCC website (www.choosemypcc.org.uk) which may help you to  decide how you will cast your vote this Thursday (July 18).
 
The candidates standing for election are:
 
Georgina Hill - Independent, from Berwick upon Tweed
Cara McGuinness - Labour from Newcastle North
Robbie Moore - Conservative and Unionist party from Alnwick
Jonathan Wallace - Liberal Democrat, from Gateshead
 
Police and crime commissioners (PCCs) are elected representatives who oversee how crime is tackled in a police force area. Their aim is to cut crime and to ensure the police force is effective.

Polling stations will be open from 7am - 10pm at  222 community venues across the county so if you are eligible to vote, make sure you go along to your local polling station and cast your vote - it really can make a difference.
