Creative Writing at the Library

Inspired to take up your pen this Spring? Take a look at new creative writing opportunities coming up in libraries across Northumberland.

Are you curious about writing, but have never put pen to paper before? Or maybe you’re already a writer but you want to develop your craft and build your writing skills? We have just the thing for you! This spring, we’ll be hosting creative writing workshops in Blyth and Prudhoe libraries with New Writing North. These six-week courses will be delivered by professional writers who will help you access your creative side and begin writing.

The courses will be led by international best-selling novelists David Mark (Prudhoe Library) and Matt Wesolowski (Blyth Library). Whatever your experience, you’ll be supported to express yourself through writing and explore your creativity. You can book a place by visiting the New Writing North website.

At Cramlington Library we are excited to offer “The Power of the Pen” a free, four-week writing course for women in Northumberland. Delivered by published author, Helen Aitchison, the course will introduce you to the art of creative writing, with a focus on well-being. All sessions will have gentle activities to help you explore your writing voice, learn new skills, and discover opportunities for developing your writing.
