Ready Set Read

It’s almost time for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge… are you ready? Children aged 4-11 can sign up at their local library from Saturday 8 July and if they can read six books over the Summer, then there are prizes and goodies to be won!  This year’s theme is ‘Ready Set Read.’

Little ones won’t miss out either – they can join our special Pre-School Challenge for children aged 3 years and under! It’s a great way to encourage children, no matter how young, to regularly borrow and read books over the summer.

Ready to take up the Challenge?

  • Borrow and read six library books, eBooks or audio books over the school holidays.
  • Collect lots of fantastic rewards along the way.
  • Complete the Challenge, after reading six books – and feel proud as they are presented with a special Certificate to celebrate their achievement.
  • Have lots of fun and read some amazing books.
  • There are also lots of fantastic prizes to be won throughout the Summer!
Children can carry on with the fun at home on the Ready Set Read website. Get book recommendations, take part in mini-challenges, play games and more by visiting the Summer Reading Challenge website.
