Get online. Get reading

Get Online Week is taking place from 18-24 October 2021. Organised by Good Things Foundation, Get Online Week helps individuals improve their digital skills and close the digital divide.

The theme of Get Online Week this year is ‘Get online. Get connected.’ Getting online confidently, safely and affordably has never been more important. The pandemic has shown it is now essential for everyone to be able to connect with friends and family, access essential services, learn and work from home and keep up with the latest news.

Did you know all library members have access to a huge digital library of eBooks, eAudiobooks, newspapers and magazines.  All you need is your library card and PIN.   Our digital library BorrowBox contains hundreds of eBooks and eAudiobooks for the whole family and PressReader has newspapers and magazines with over 6,000 publications from over 100 countries in 60+ languages. With so many titles there is sure to be something for everyone!

If you need help setting up your device to access our digital library, contact our digital helpline and someone will be in touch to talk you through the process. Call to schedule an IT Help Call Back appointment on 0345 600 6400.  All help is free of charge, private and done by library staff. If you prefer you can fill in this short form with details of the help you need and someone will get back to you.

As well as helping setting up access to our digital library we can assist with other IT issues you may be having.  While some IT problems may be too tricky to fix over the phone, do get in touch if you're struggling. We'll try to help.

Help might include, but isn't limited to:
  • Getting online (connecting to existing WiFi at home)
  • Using the internet.
  • Setting up a free email account.
  • Supporting access to all digital NHS services.
  • Setting up Zoom, Skype and other video chats.
  • Online shopping.
  • Troubleshooting other basic problems.
