Health Information Week in Libraries

Health Information Week runs from 5 - 11 July. It is a national, multi-sector campaign promoting high-quality information for patients and the public.
High quality health information can have a huge impact on people’s ability to stay healthy and manage illnesses effectively, giving them a better quality of life.

The Health Information website contains lots of useful information to help people make sure they can trust the health information they are reading. It is important to make sure that health information is from a trusted sources.

Don’t forget your local library is a great source of helpful information to manage your health and well-being. Our stocks have been recently boosted by DCMS funding enabling all our libraries to stock brand new collections of The Reading Agency’s Reading Well titles.

Reading Well helps you to understand and manage your health and well-being using helpful reading.  The books are chosen by health experts and people living with the conditions covered. People can be recommended a title by a health professional, or they can visit their local library and take a book out for free themselves. You can find more information by visiting our Health and Well-being section of the library website.

There are five booklists available. Click on one of them listed below to find out more. Many of the Reading Well titles are also available to borrow as eBooks and audiobooks from our digital library BorrowBox.  To access our digital library all you need is your library card and PIN.  If you are not a library member you can join online today and get access straight away.
