Regeneration Programmes Investment Team

The Regeneration Programmes and Investment Team are responsible for maximising the funding and investment coming into Northumberland to assist the delivery of the main priorities for the County. By enhancing resources available for projects and programmes, the team enables the delivery of a wide variety of benefits to both the businesses and the residents of Northumberland including boosting economic growth, creating job opportunities and attracting investment via external funding.  
 

The Regeneration Programmes Investment Team provide two key services: 

• Regeneration Investment Service – supporting Northumberland County council funding applications. 
• Contracting and Commissioning Service – managing approved funding projects and programmes from inception to closure as part of the governance and Accountable Body functions. 

Collectively, these services deliver a wide range of regeneration investment support functions supporting the Council’s objectives for economic growth. Aiming to maximise investment into Northumberland to facilitate delivery of key economic growth and regeneration initiatives, the Team offers: 

• Supporting the development of creative and innovative projects and programmes 
• Supporting project development, bid preparation and project delivery 
• Liaising with funders both post and pre funding application 
• Effective coordination, design and development of commissions and contracts relating to economic growth and regeneration initiatives (projects and programmes)  
• Assistance to improve the quality of bids and increase the chance of being successful in the bidding process - offering a critical friend role and (where appropriate) leading on the compilation of the bid. 
• Coordination of application submissions to external funders and bodies through a funding tracker 
• Advising and supporting the Council in its role as Accountable Body for external grant funding, including internal governance and reporting requirements 
• Offering, where appropriate, post offer contract management services covering issues such as: governance, assurance, due-diligence, contract compliance and appraisal. 
• Collaboration with other service areas and external partners 
• Identifying potential funding opportunities including the production of a monthly funding and investment bulletin

The Team also supports individuals, organisations and businesses in Northumberland: 

• External funding advice, information and signposting, including production of funding e-bulletins
