Hexham Library and Cogito Books will be celebrating the life and times of the river Tyne as at an evening event in Hexham Library on Thursday 15th November at 7.30pm.
Author Michael Chaplin, artist Birtley Aris, and poet Christy Ducker will be talking about the walk they took along the tidal length of the River Tyne from South Shields to Tynemouth via Wylam in June 2011.
The recently published book they compiled, Tyne View includes pen and ink illustrations, photography, poetry and a written and poetic narrative that captures the ordinary and extraordinary people of the river and the river itself at a point of change.
Part social history, part psycho-geography and part love letter, Tyne View captures the soul of Tyneside's big river.
Tickets are £3 to include a glass of wine or soft drink and can be reserved by contacting Cogito Books 01434 602555 www.cogitobooks.com or Hexham Library 01434 624525 firstname.lastname@example.org
