Northumberland County Council is committed to producing accessible and usable on-line services. This site has been designed to be accessible and usable by the widest audience possible. Northumberland County Council engaged the services of Ability Net to help assist with the layout and functionality of this site. We hold regular sessions with residents to check usability and accessibility of the site.
The pages of this site comply with most priority 1, 2 and 3 checkpoints of WCAG 1.0. 

This site should function in most contemporary standards compliant browsers regardless of platform.

Although additional functionality has been included to allow you to change the text size of the font used and the contrast of the foreground and background colours, the ability to change the way your internet browser displays this site is better controlled within the browser itself.

Options for Changing Font Size

The option for resizing the text  is displayed on the top left menu of the website

  • The first A reduces the text size down to 80%

  • The centre A keeps the text size a 100%

  • The last A expands the text size to 120%

Languages

This website can be translated into a number of different languages using Google translate or Intertran. Unfortunately some languages cannot be translated but we have provided a one page document explaining how to receive further information in that language.
