Electronic archives catalogue
Our electronic catalogue contains textual descriptions of approximately 150,000 records held by the Northumberland collections service.

Document storage & retrieval

The document storage and retrieval service (DSRS) is an offsite records storage facility operated by the Woodhorn Charitable Trust.

We can store the following on your behalf:
  • paper records
  • maps and plans
  • deeds
  • endowment policies
  • family heirlooms
  • photographs and other memorabilia 
Your records will be stored in a strong room, environmentally controlled to meet guidelines. The rooms are fitted with an argon gas fire protection system to ensure the safety of the material stored.

Our state-of-the-art facilities offer:
  • electric mobile shelving
  • temperature and humidity-controlled strong rooms
  • 24-hour on-site security, 365 days a year
  • CCTV monitoring of our strong rooms both inside and out
  • restricted access to strong rooms
  • confidential research room to allow onsite viewing of your documents
  • confidential disposal of your records
