Norham & Islandshire apply to be a Neighbourhood Area 

Ord Parish Council in partnership with the parishes of Ancroft, Duddo, Horncliffe Kyloe, Norham and Shoreswood have applied to be designated as a ‘Neighbourhood Area’ for the purposes of neighbourhood planning.  
 
Neighbourhood planning is a tool available to town and parish councilsIt enables communities to have a real say over future development in their areaWhere they exist, neighbourhood plans are used by officers at Northumberland County Council to help make decisions on planning applications in those areas.  
 
The proposed neighbourhood area covers the entire seven parishes as shown on the attached map.  
 
The application can be viewed on the county council’s website at https://nland.cc/planning or in person upon request at Ancroft Village Hall or County Hall, Morpeth during normal opening hours from Monday 20 November 2023 until Friday 5 January 2024.  
 
Anyone can comment on the proposed neighbourhood area either by email or letter. 
Comments must be received on or before Friday 5 January 2024.
