A wedding fair in Morpeth Town Hall this month will give the chance for couples planning their big day to meet their perfect match of local wedding suppliers.

The free event, organised by Northumberland County Council’s Registration Service, takes place on Sunday, February 19, from 11am to 3pm and there’s no ticket required.

More than 30 North-East-based wedding specialists have signed up to attend the fair, including wedding outfitters, florists, caterers, car-hire specialists, photographers, music and entertainment companies and cake makers.

Cllr Colin Horncastle portfolio holder for community services said: “Northumberland is currently experiencing a wedding boom - last year the Northumberland registrars officiated more than 2,300 marriages in Northumberland.

“Almost two thirds of couples who are getting married in Northumberland are coming from outside the county - showcasing to visitors how amazing Northumberland is – and we can’t wait to welcome even more couples this year.”

Northumberland Registrars will be available to offer couples advice and guidance – talking them through the booking process, explaining the legalities and helping personalise and deliver the perfect ceremony.
