Active Northumberland has just launched a convenient new online booking system for swimming lessons for young children. 

 

The booking portal is open to the Ducklings class (12 weeks to 4 years old) and Stage 1 (4 years +). 

Parents can simply go to the Active Northumberland website www.active.northumberland.gov.uk or follow the link https://www.activenorthumberland.org.uk/fin.../learn-to-swim and book in just a few short clicks.

Active Northumberland instructors teach thousands of children to swim each week at swimming pools across the county with classes for all ages and abilities. 
 

Mark Warnes, Chief Executive of Active Northumberland said: 

“Swimming lessons are an essential part of a child’s development as it teaches them important skills around water safety and drowning prevention, while also keeping them active. 
 

"Not only do they learn the essential skills that stay with them for life, but they can also have lots of fun and the health benefits are enormous too. 

We try to encourage parents to start their children off with lessons as early as possible if they are able to, so that they are confident in water and already swimming before they start school. We find this gives them a real head start.
