Community Champions

We are creating a network of Northumberland Community Champions to empower our communities and to help us keep people safe, reassured and supported in these uncertain times.

Anyone living or working in the county can be a Northumberland Community Champion, this includes residents, workplace representatives and community and voluntary groups.

We are creating a network of Northumberland Community Champions to empower our communities and to help us keep people safe, reassured and supported in these uncertain times.

We want to ensure that our communications and engagement activities are as effective as they possibly can be.

Our new Northumberland Community Champions will support residents across the county to stay up to date with the latest advice about Covid-19. They will help their family, friends and the wider community understand latest advice and information about Covid-19, to help ensure we all stay safe and alert to the risks of the virus.

You do not need any specific experience to get involved and will not have to give up a lot of your time, you just need a willingness to get involved and have good social skills.

As a champion, you will receive regular updates on Covid-19 by email or in webinars. You can then share the information across your networks, in whatever format you like.

By working with us you can protect yourself, protect others and protect Northumberland.

How to become a Covid-19 community champion

As a Champion you will:
  • Get regular updates from the council on the latest situation with coronavirus.
  • Receive key messages and updates that you can share however you want to with friends, family, networks and communities, so they have the latest advice and know what they need to do to help keep Northumberland safe.
  • FAQs to help with myth-busting about Covid 19.
  • Get a single point of contact to discuss ideas, offer suggestions and ask any questions.
  • Keep us up to date with any queries you come across and let us know how you’ve shared the information.
