You can also dispose of bulky waste items in other ways:
We can remove small amounts of hazardous household waste (terms and conditions apply) such as asbestos, some garden pesticides, and flammable solvents. See our hazardous waste collection service for more information. We can quote for removal of your plastic oil heating tanks, but they must be cut in half, disconnected from pipe work and completely empty of oil (concessionary rates do not apply to quoted collections). Alternatively, cut and clean as mentioned and take them to your household waste recovery centre (HWRC). See our HWRC service for more information. If you have any other queries, please contact us on 0345 600 6400. For metal oil tanks you will need to contact a specialist company, such as:
When you book, please choose a collection day for your bulky waste and we will collect it between 7am and 5pm. If you are booking a concession collection you must book by telephone or in person, as you will be asked to provide evidence of eligibility. Quoted collections must be booked by telephone or in person. Concessionary rates do not apply to quoted collections. How to book a bulky waste collection:
You must inform us if you wish to cancel your collection. Please do this as soon as possible, so we don’t waste time and fuel. Unfortunately, once a booking has been made and paid for it can't be amended. If you have additional items to collect, you'll need to contact us again and to make a further booking. This is due to the space allocation on the collection vehicle. Please call us on 0345 600 6400 to either cancel your booking, or to arrange another booking for extra items. Please have your reference number handy when contacting us. If you are eligible for a refund, we will issue you a cheque.
