MOT and Authorised Testing Facility (ATF)

Northumberland County Council operates an ATF authorised testing facility and three VOSA-approved MOT testing facilities, which are open to the public.

MOT prices 

MOT class 4 - £40 

MOT class 7 - £50 

Council MOT centres don't actually perform repair work on site, we simply conduct MOT tests. We will only recommend repair work required to enable your car to pass the MOT. 

Taxis 

All new taxi applications must be tested at one of our MOT facilities.  

Cost:  Taxi - Private Hire and Hackney MOT - £55 

Authorised Testing for HGV, LGV Trailer and PSV 

Northumberland County Council is also an authorised centre for repairs and calibration of digital tachograph 

The centre is based in Alnwick which are open to the public and commercial businesses.
