Please ensure you read this in full before you proceed to book. You can only give notice twelve months prior to the date that your marriage or civil partnership ceremony is due to take place and it must be given no later than 29 days before your ceremony date (although we would never recommend leaving it this late). Notice of marriage/civil partnership MUST be given in the area that you live in England or Wales. Please note if you are getting married/forming a Civil Partnership in Northumberland you MUST have your ceremony already booked with our registrars or minister of religion before you give Notice of Marriage/Civil Partnership. If you are getting married/forming a Civil Partnership in a district outside of Northumberland, their policies may be different. You must check with the district where you wish to be married/form a Civil Partnership that the ceremony can proceed before you give Notice of Marriage/ Civil Partnership. There is a statutory fee of £42 per person to give notice of Marriage/Civil Partnership. There may be additional charges depending upon your circumstances.
