Congratulations to all our young people who are receiving their results today.
Students across the county are finding out their AS level, A level, T Level and BTEC results as they prepare to take their next steps into Higher and Further Education or the world of work.
Councillor Guy Renner-Thompson, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Inspiring Young People, said: “Congratulations to all our students in Northumberland, I hope that everyone is very proud of the grades they’ve achieved.
“Today is an exciting milestone as they move forward to take up new opportunities in education or the world of work and I wish all students the best of luck for the future.
"I would also like to thank Northumberland’s staff in schools and colleges for their dedication to making sure all our young people reach their full potential.”
There were celebrations at Berwick Academy this morning as students headed to school to collect their results.
Cody, a student at Berwick Academy, said: "I'm very happy with my results, I got what I needed to get into my apprenticeship which will help me advance my career in Engineering."
Another student, Connell, also said: "I'm very happy with my results, I'm going to Cambridge to study Medicine."
Deputy Headteacher, Steve Gibson, said: “It's been a great morning celebrating with many sixth form students who've got some superb results after their hard work across the last couple of years. We're incredibly proud of everything they've achieved and the resilience they've shown to get to this point.”
"We've got students going to some of the best universities in the world and we've got students going on to do apprenticeships in subjects they're really interested in."
