Apprenticeships available with Active Northumberland

Active Northumberland, the county’s leading leisure provider, has apprenticeships available at its sports centres in Morpeth and Alnwick.
Two Level 2, Leisure Team Member apprenticeships are being offered, providing the opportunity for young people and adult learners to earn while they learn in a real job, while gaining nationally recognised qualifications and valuable experience in a busy and varied leisure setting.
The training will be based at Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre in Alnwick and the Riverside Leisure Centre in Morpeth over an 18- month period.

“The apprenticeships will give hands on experience in all aspects of our busy sports centres and offer a great opportunity for anyone who would like a career within the leisure industry.”
The apprenticeship programme has been designed to support, encourage and help individuals to grow into their potential within the business. On completion they will have a Level 2 Leisure Team Member Standard, Level 2 in Pool Lifeguarding, Level 2 in Swimming Teaching, a Level 2 in Fitness and Gym Instructing, and a Level 3 in First Aid.
Active Northumberland is partnering with specialist training provider Creative Sport & Leisure, to ensure that all training is current, reflects the changing national landscape for sport and leisure and that the apprentice is at the heart of the programme.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship candidates will be eligible to become an affiliate member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
