Vacancy after Hexham councillor resigns
05 Nov 2021 ARCHIVED (over 3 months old) - view latest news
A county councillor vacancy has been created following the resignation of Cllr Cath Homer (Hexham East).
A Notice of the vacancy will now be placed on the council website announcing that a vacancy exists in the Hexham East Division.
However, it is the receipt of two names from anyone in the registered electoral area (all of Northumberland) which triggers the election process.
Once the two names are received, the council has 35 working days to fill the vacancy. This means the election could be held in December depending on when the two names are received.
For residents living within the Hexham East Division who have issues they would normally raise with their local member they can contact
democraticservices@northumberland.gov.uk who will help direct them or respond.
Residents can also call Head of Democratic and Electoral Services Jackie Roll on 01670 622603.
