Are you running out of books to read or listen to at home with your children?
Did you know Northumberland Libraries has hundreds of eBooks and eAudio available via its digital library for children and young people to read alone or together as a family.
There are more than 600 eBooks and 400 eAudio books for children and young people to enjoy on BorrowBox.
If you’re not already a member of the library why not join today and start taking advantage of the hundreds of titles available.
If you would prefer to read an actual book remember we are offering a Select and Collect service at a few our libraries. You can request specific titles or genres of books and our team will pick out the best selection and arrange a suitable time for collection.
Our Select and Collect service is available at the following libraries:
Blyth, Hexham, Morpeth between 10am - 4pm Monday - Friday and Saturdays 10am - 1pm.
Berwick between 10am - 4pm Monday - Friday
Ashington and Cramlington between 10am - 2pm Monday - Friday
Books can also be returned to these libraries during these hours. We will not be able to offer access to PCs, the reservation system or time limited browsing.
The mobile library will not operate its normal schedule.
All other libraries will remain closed. Fines on overdue books are currently suspended.
Customers can contact libraries offering a select and collect service by filling in an online form or by calling the library telephone number.
Cllr Jeff Watson, cabinet member for the library service said: “We know that many children are currently homeschooling and therefore may not have access to their normal school library, where they would be able to read a variety of books.
“Parents and children may be getting fed up with their book choices at home, so the wide selection available on the digital library and via the Select and Collect service, is a great way to continue your child’s reading journey through this difficult time.”
