Two grant schemes which are supporting Northumberland businesses through the coronavirus pandemic are closing for applications this Sunday.

The ‘wet led’ pubs grant is a one-off payment of £1,000 which was provided by Government to give important support to pubs which were losing income over the normally busy Christmas period.

The scheme is for pubs and bars which derive less than half of their income from food sales.  They must normally have been open to the general public and have been liable for business rates in Northumberland on 1 December 2020.

The national deadline for applications is Sunday 28 February, and any business in the county which hasn’t applied yet should do so by that date.

The second scheme which closes for applications this Sunday is the Additional Restrictions Grant (Taxi) V3, which is a one-off payment of £500 to support self-employed taxi drivers, as a contribution to ongoing fixed costs.

To qualify for this grant, you must be a self-employed taxi or private hire driver and have been licensed by Northumberland County Council on 18 September 2020.

Applications for both schemes close at midnight on Sunday 28 February 2021.

A number of further support schemes are still open for applications.
