Linking job hunters with vacancies in Northumberland

Joint working between the National Careers Service, the Department for Work and Pensions, Northumberland County Council and Advance Northumberland is connecting employers with job vacancies to Northumberland residents seeking work.

The National Careers Services (NCS) is helping those who have lost their jobs, are at risk of losing jobs, or have been affected in other ways by the coronavirus and its economic impacts.

Cllr Richard Wearmough, cabinet member for economic development at Northumberland County Council and chair of Advance Northumberland, said: “There has never been such an important time for supporting people to stay in or get back into work.

“This excellent initiative by the National Careers Service working with other agencies and with employers who have vacancies will help to match them up with people who have the right skills and experience.  In addition, where further skills are needed NCS can guide people towards the right training or advice.”

Employers who have vacancies should get in touch with the National Careers Service on 0808 1963596 or email JobsFuse@educationdevelopmenttrust.com

People can also contact the NCS helpline for free, impartial, and expert careers advice as well as practical guidance such as CV writing and access to training.

The service is part of a range of support being offered to businesses and residents by Northumberland County Council and Advance Northumberland through the Northumberland Business Hub.
