New public rights of way for East and West Chevington

Eight new public bridleways and one new public footpath are set to be created on land which was formerly part of the Maidens Hall opencast site in East and West Chevington parish areas.

Northumberland County Council has made a legal order to create the public rights of way, and if no objections are received by 30 July, they will be confirmed and become available for public use.

The order has been advertised in the Northumberland Gazette and notices placed at the site. You can also see the order in the public rights of way section of the council’s website.

Anyone who wishes to make comments on the Order should write to the Legal Services Manager, Northumberland County Council, County Hall, Morpeth, Northumberland, NE612EF or email legalplanningandhighways@northumberland.gov.uk

If you would like any further information about the order you can email  highwaysearch@northumberland.gov.uk or phone 0345 600 6400 and ask for the definitive map
