Ghosts and Ghouls invited to Prudhoe Science Spooktacular
08 Oct 2019
Creepy concoctions and eerie experiments await at the Fuse Media Centre in Prudhoe this October.
Ghosts and ghouls aged 7 to 11 are invited to get into the Halloween spirit with spellbinding science and a frightening film screening on Tuesday 29 October from 12.45pm to 4pm.
The horrid Hotel Transylvania (U) will be screened in the cinema - popcorn included - followed by spellbinding science sessions delivered by Northumberland County Council, STEM Ambassador Hub North East and RTC North.
Working in teams, children will use their skills to explore the science of slime, make their own witches brew and scarily realistic fake blood.
Cllr Nick Oliver, cabinet member for corporate services at Northumberland County Council said: “STEM is high on the agenda for all educational establishments and workplaces.
“As a council we wish to promote them by engaging with local schools, children and businesses to increase the opportunities available in our county and showcase the exciting and varied career opportunities that the STEM subjects can open up for our young people.
“Halloween is a fantastic time of year for families to get involved in the marvels of science, and create something fitting with this holiday.”
The event will run from 12.45pm until 4pm on Tuesday 29 October. Places are £3 per child. All children must be supervised by a parent or guardian and each adult should book a ticket, although adult tickets are free. Refreshments and popcorn are provided.
